UNITY

0 you who believe! Fear God as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.
And hold fast, all together, by the Rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God's favour on you; for you were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that By His Grace, you became brethren;
and you were on the brink of the Pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does God make his Signs clear to you: That you may be guided.

Sura: 3, Ayat: 102-103.

Do not follow the example of those who became divided and opposed to one another after clear proofs had been given them. These shall be sternly punished on the day when some faces will be bright (with joy) and others blackened (with grief).
To the black-faced sinners it will be said: 'Did you disbelieve after embracing the true faith? Taste then our scourge, for you were unbelievers! As for those whose faces will be bright, they shall abide forever in Allah's Mercy.

Sura: 3, Ayat: 105-107.

Say: 'He has power to let loose His scourge upon you from above your heads and from beneath your feet, and to divide you into discordant factions, causing the one to suffer at the hands of the other.'
See how We make plain Our revelations, that they may understand.

Sura: 6, Ayat: 65.

As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least: Their affair is with God: He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did.

Sura: 6, Ayat: 159.

0 believers, when you meet their army stand firm and pray fervently to Allah, so that you may triumph. Obey Allah and His Apostle and do not dispute with one another, lest you should lose courage and your resolve weaken. Have patience: Allah is with those that are patient.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 45-46.

.... He has made you strong with His help and rallied the faithful round you, making their hearts one. If you had given away all the riches of the earth, you could not have so united them; but Allah has united them. He is Mighty, Wise.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 62-63.

They sell Allah's revelations for a small price and debar others from His path. Evil is what they do. They honour with the believers neither treaties nor ties of kindred. Such are the transgressors.
If they repent and take to prayer and pay the alms-tax, they shall become your brothers in the faith. Thus We make plain Our revelations for men of understanding.

Sura: 9, Ayat: 9-1 1.

Turn to Allah and fear Him. Be steadfast in prayer and be not of those who associate others with Allah, those who split up their religion into sects, each exulting in its own beliefs.

Sura: 30, Ayat: 31-32.

The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - that which We have sent by inspiration to you - And that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that you should remain steadfast in Religion, and make no divisions therein:
To those who worship other things than God, hard is the (way) to which you call them. God chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

Sura: 42, Ayat: 13.

If two parties of believers take up arms against each other, make peace between them. If either of them commits aggression against the other, fight against the aggressors till they submit to Allah's judgement. When they submit, make peace between them in equity and justice; Allah loves the equitable.
The believers are brethren. Make peace among your brethren and fear Allah, so that you may be shown mercy.

Sura: 49, Ayat: 9-10.

RULES FOR VISITING HOMES

They ask you concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if you enter your houses from the back: It is virtue if you fear God.
Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear God: That you may prosper.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 189.

Believers, do not enter the dwellings of other men until you have asked their owners' permission and wished them peace. That will be best for you. Perchance you will take heed.
If you find no one in them, do not go in till you are given leave. If you are refused admission, it is but right that you should go away. Allah has knowledge of all your actions.
It shall be no offence for you to seek shelter in uninhabited dwellings which can be of use to you. Allah knows what you bide and what you reveal.

Sura: 24, Ayat: 27-29.

It is no fault in the blind nor in one born lame, nor in one afflicted with illness, nor in yourselves, that you should eat in your own houses, or those of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your father's brothers, or your father's sisters, or your mother's brothers, or your mother's sisters, or in houses of which the keys are in your possession, or in the house of a sincere friend of yours:
there is no blame on you, whether you eat in company or separately. But if you enter houses, salute each other - a greeting of blessing and purity as from God. Thus does God make clear the Signs to you: that you may understand.

Sura: 24, Ayat: 61.

LIVING TOGETHER

Men, have fear of your Lord, who created you from a single soul. From that soul He created its mate, and through them He bestrewed the earth with countless men and women.
Fear Allah, in whose name you plead with one another, and honour the mothers who bore you. Allah is ever watching over you.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 1.

Believers, do not devour your wealth among yourselves illegally, but rather trade with it by mutual consent.
You shall not kill one another. Allah is Merciful.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 29.

They ask you about the spoils of war, Say: 'The spoils belong to Allah and the Apostle.
Therefore, have fear of Allah and end your disputes. Obey Allah and His Apostle, if you are true believers.'

Sura: 8, Ayat: 1.

Obey Allah and His Apostle and do not dispute with one another, lest you should lose courage and your resolve weaken. Have patience: Allah is with those that are patient.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 46

Those that have since embraced the faith and fled their homes and fought with you - they too are of you. And according to the Book of Allah, those who are bound by ties of blood are nearest to one another.
Allah has knowledge of all things.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 75.

Be they men or women, the hypocrites are all alike.
They enjoin what is evil, forbid what is just, and tighten their purse-strings. They forsook Allah, so Allah forsook them. Surely the hypocrites are evildoers.

Sura: 9, Ayat: 67.

The true believers, both men and women, are friends to each other. They enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil; they attend to their prayers and pay the alms-tax and obey Allah and His Apostle. On these Allah will have mercy. He is Mighty, Wise.

Sura: 9, Ayat: 71.

Allah knows what you hide and what you reveal.

And now, We have set you on the right path. Follow it and do not yield to the desires of ignorant men.

Sura: 45, Ayat: 18.

The wrongdoers are patrons to each other; but the righteous have Allah Himself for their patron.
These are clear proofs to men and a guidance and mercy for those who truly believe.

Sura: 45, Ayat: 19-20.

If two parties of believers take up arms against each other, make peace between them. If either of them commits aggression against the other, fight against the aggressors till they submit to Allah's judgement. When they submit, make peace between them in equity and justice; Allah loves the equitable.

Sura: 49, Ayat: 9.

The believers are brethren. Make peace among your brethren and fear Allah, so that you may be shown mercy.

Sura: 49, Ayat: 10.

Believers let no man mock another man, who may perhaps be better than himself. Let no woman mock another woman, who may perhaps be better than herself. Do not defame one another, nor call one another by nicknames.
It is an evil thing to be called by a bad name after embracing the true faith.
Those that do not repent are wrongdoers.

Sura: 49, Ayat: 11.

0 you who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: and spy not on each other, nor speak ill of each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother?
Nay, you would abhor it ... But fear God: for God is Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura: 49, Ayat: 12.

0 mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you.
And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

Sura: 49, Ayat: 13.

.... And those saved from the covetousness of their own Souls, - they are the ones that achieve prosperity.
And those who came after them say: 'Our Lord! forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancour (or sense of injury) against those who have believed. Our Lord!, You are indeed full of Kindness, Most Merciful.'

Sura: 59, Ayat: 9-10.

Woe, then, upon those praying ones whose hearts from their prayer are remote; those who want only to be seen and praised. But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.

Sura: 107, Ayat: 4-7.

SEEKING PEACE

In most of their secret talks there is no good: but if one exhorts to a deed of charity or justice or conciliation between men (secrecy is permissible): To him who does this, seeking the good pleasure of God, We shall soon give a reward of the highest (value).

Sura: 4, Ayat: 114.

If a woman fears ill-treatment or desertion on the part of her husband, it shall be no offence for them to seek a mutual agreement, for agreement is best. Man is prone to avarice. But if you do what is right and guard yourselves against evil, know then that Allah is cognizant of all what you do.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 128.

If two parties of believers take up arms against each other, make peace between them. If either of them commits aggression against the other, fight against the aggressors till they submit to Allah's judgement. When they submit, make peace between them in equity and justice; Allah loves the equitable.
The believers are brethren. Make peace among your brethren, and fear Allah, so that you may be shown mercy.

HELPING THE HELPLESS

And why should you not fight for the cause of Allah and for the helpless old men, women, and children who say: 'Deliver us, Lord, from this city of wrongdoers; send forth to us a guardian from Your presence; send to us one that will help us'?

Sura: 4, Ayat: 75.

And keep your soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; nor obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.

Sura: 18, Ayat: 28.

REBELLING AGAINST TRUTH

Say: The things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are: Shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to God, for which He has given no authority; and saying things about God of which you have no knowledge.

Sura: 7, Ayat: 33.

The unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the path of God, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome:
And the unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell: - In order that God may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 36-37.

For the worst of beasts in the sight of God are those who reject Him: They will not believe.
They are those with whom you did make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of God). If you gain the mastery over them in war, make of them a fearsome example for those who follow them, that they may remember. If you fear treachery from any group, throw back (their Covenant) to them, (so as to be) on equal terms: for God loves not the treacherous.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 55-58.

Those who annoy believing men and believing women undeservedly shall bear the guilt of slander and a gross sin.

Sura: 33, Ayat: 58.

Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds, except the Companions of the Right Hand.
(They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, and (ask of the Sinners): 'What led you into Hell-Fire?'
They will say: 'We were not of those who prayed; nor were we of those who fed the indigent; but we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; and we used to deny the Day of Judgement, until there came to us (The Hour) that is certain.

Sura: 74, Ayat: 38-47.
