LAWLESSNESS

And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them.
Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 191-192.

And right them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 193.

And fear tumult or oppression, which affects not in particular (only) those of you who have done wrong: and know that God is strict in punishment.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 25.

PROHIBITION OF CREATING CHAOS

The punishment of those who wage war against God and His Apostle, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; except for those who repent before they fall into your power: in that case, know that God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura: 5, Ayat: 33-34.

... But the revelation that comes to you from God increases in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Amongst them We have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgement.
Every time they kindle the fire of war, God does extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And God loves not those who do mischief.

Sura: 5, Ayat: 64.

Do not make mischief in the earth after it has been purged. Pray to Him with fear and hope; His mercy is within the reach of the righteous.

Sura: 7, Ayat: 56.

And to Madian, We sent their brother Shu'aib. He said:.... Do not corrupt the land after it has been purged of evil. That is best for you, if you are true believers.
Do not sit in every road, threatening believers and debarring them from the path of Allah nor seek to make that path crooked.
Remember how He multiplied you when you were few in number. Consider the fate of the evil-doers 'If there are some among you who believe in my message and others who disbelieve it, be patient until Allah shall judge between us. He is the best of judges.'

Sura: 7, Ayat: 85 ... 86-87.

And fear tumult or oppression, which affects not in particular (only) those of you who have done wrong: and know that God is strict in punishment.

Sura: 8, Ayat: 25.

When the magicians came, Musa said to them: 'Cast down what you may. And when they had thrown, he said: 'What you have brought is deception. Surely, God will render it vain. Allah does not bless the work of the evildoers. By His words He vindicates the truth, much as the guilty may dislike it.'

Sura: 10, Ayat: 80-82.

And unto (the people of) Madyan (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: 'O my people! Worship God (alone): you have no deity other than Him; and do not give short measure and weight (in any of your dealings with men). Behold, I see you (now) in a happy state; but, verily, I dread lest suffering befall you on a Day that will encompass (you with doom)!
Hence, 0 my people (always) give full measure and weight, with equity, and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs, and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption. That which rests with God is best for you, if you but believe in (Him)! However, I am not your keeper.'

Sura: 11, Ayat: 84-86.

Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth-except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the wrongdoers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin.

Sura: 11, Ayat: 116.

But those who break the Covenant of God, after having plighted their word thereto, and cut asunder those things which God has commanded to be joined, and work mischief in the land; - on them is the Curse; for them is the terrible Home!

Sura: 13, Ayat: 25.

Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan does sow dissensions among them: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy.

Sura: 17, Ayat: 53.

"Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud), and weigh with scales true and upright, and withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. And fear Him who created you and (Who created) the generations before (you)."

Sura: 26, Ayat: 181-184.

Qarun was doubtless, of the people of Moses; but he acted insolently towards them: Such were the treasures We had bestowed on him, that their very keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men. Behold, his people said to him: 'Exult not, for God loves not those who exult (in riches). "But seek, with the (wealth) which God has bestowed on you, the Home of the Hereafter, nor forget your portion in this world: but do you good, as God has been good to you, and seek not (occasion for) mischief in the land: for God loves not those who do mischief."

Sura: 28, Ayat: 76-77.

As for the abode of the Hereafter, we shall assign it to those who seek not to exalt in this world nor seek evil. The blessed end is for the righteous.

Sura: 28, Ayat: 83.

To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: 'O my people! Serve God, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief.

Sura: 29, Ayat: 36.

(Since they have become oblivious of God), corruption has appeared on land and in the sea as an outcome of what men's hands have wrought: and so He will let them taste (the evil of) some of their doings, so that they might return (to the right path).

Sura: 30, Ayat: 41.

PILFERAGE AND ITS PUNISHMENT

As for the man or woman who is guilty of theft, cut off their hands to punish them for their crimes. That is the punishment enjoined by Allah. He is Mighty, Wise.

ASSASSINATION

0 believers, retaliation is decreed for you in bloodshed: a free man for a free man, a slave for a slave, and a female for a female. He who is pardoned by his aggrieved brother shall be prosecuted according to usage and shall pay him a liberal fine. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. He that transgresses thereafter shall have stern punishment.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 178.

In retaliation you have a safeguard for your lives 0 men of understanding.
So that you may guard yourselves against evil.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 179.

Believers, do not consume your wealth among yourselves illegally, but rather trade with it by mutual consent.
You shall not kill one another. Allah is Merciful, but he that does that through wickedness and injustice shall be burnt in fire. That is an easy thing for Allah.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 29-30.

It is unlawful for a believer to kill another believer except by mistake. He that kills a believer by mistake must free one believing slave and pay blood-money to the family of the victim, unless they choose to give it away in alms. If the victim be a believer from a hostile tribe, the penalty is the freeing of one believing slave.
But if the victim be a member of an allied tribe, then blood- money must be paid to his family and a believing slave set free.
If a man cannot afford to do this he must fast two consecutive months. Such is the penance imposed by Allah: He is Knowing, Wise.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 92.

He that kills a believer by design shall burn in Hell for ever. He shall incur the wrath of Allah, who will lay His curse on him and prepare for him a woeful scourge.

Sura: 4, Ayat: 93.

0 believers, show discernment when you go out to fight for the cause of Allah, and do not say to those that offer you peace: 'You are not believers,' - seeking the fleeting gains of this world; for with Allah there are abundant gains....

Sura: 4, Ayat: 94.

That was why We laid down for the children of Israel that whoever killed a human being, except as a punishment for murder or for sedition in the earth, should be looked upon as though he had killed all mankind; and that whoever saved a human life should be regarded as though he had saved all mankind.
Our apostles brought them veritable proofs; yet even after that many of them committed great evils in the land.

Sura: 5, Ayat: 32.

Say: "Come, I will rehearse what God has (really) prohibited you from":.... Kill not your children on a plea of want; - We provide sustenance for you and for them; ... take not life, which God has made sacred, except by way of justice and law:...

Sura: 6, Ayat: 151.

Your Lord has decreed.... Nor take life - which God has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority (to demand Qisas - life for life or compensation or forgiveness depending on the heirs' wishes): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).

Sura: 17, Ayat: 23 ... 33.

And the servants of (God) Most Gracious are those... who invoke not, with God, any other God, nor slay such life as God has made sacred, except for just cause, nor commit adultery; and any that does this (not only) meets punishment (but) the Penalty on the Day of Judgement will be doubled to him, and he will dwell therein in ignominy. Unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for God will change the evil of such persons into good, and God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura: 25, Ayat: 63... 68-70.

RETALIATION AND REMISSION THROUGH BLOOD-WIT

0 believers, retaliation is decreed for you in bloodshed: a free man for a free man, a slave for a slave, and a female for a female. He who is pardoned by his aggrieved brother shall be prosecuted according to usage and shall pay him a liberal fine. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. He that transgresses thereafter shall have stern punishment.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 178.

In retaliation you have a safeguard for your lives 0 men of understanding.
So that you may guard yourselves against evil.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 179.

A sacred month for a sacred month: sacred things too are subject to retaliation. If anyone attacks you, attack him as he attacked you. Have fear of Allah, and know that Allah is with the righteous.

Sura: 2, Ayat: 194.

We ordained therein for them: 'life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.' But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself (for some of his past sins). And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what God has revealed, they are (no better than) wrongdoers.

Sura: 5, Ayat: 45.

Your Lord has decreed.... Nor take life - which God has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority (to demand Qisas or to forgive): for he is helped (by the Law).

Sura: 17, Ayat: 23 ... 33.

INFANTICIDE

Even so, in the eyes of most of the Pagans, their Associate-gods made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If God had willed, they would not have done so: but leave alone them and their inventions.

Sura: 6, Ayat: 137.

Lost, indeed, are they who, in their weak-minded ignorance, slay their children and declare as forbidden (food) that which God has provided for them as sustenance, falsely ascribing (such prohibitions) to God: they have gone astray and have not found the right path.

Sura: 6, Ayat: 140.

Say: "Come, I will rehearse what God has (really) prohibited you from":...
Kill not your children on a plea of want; - We provide sustenance for you and for them;...

Sura: 6, Ayat: 151.

Your Lord has decreed... Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you.
Verily the killing of them is a great sin.

Sura: 17, Ayat-. 23 ... 31.
